Tattoo Design Book - Heroes and Heroines in Ukiyo-e - JUST RELEASED

This book is well done. It explores the Heroes of Japanese mythology via antique ukiyo-e, present day tattooing and illustrations by contemporary Japanese tattoo artists. The work is top notch, featuring the hottest tattooers in the Japanese scene today, in full color, in either full page otr quad split images. The text is in Japanese but the heroes and heroines are introduced in English as well, so you can research the stories you don't know. And the tattoo work is supported by ukiyo-e from Kuniyoshi, and his contemporaries, as well as illustrations from some of Japan's most prolific tattooers including Bunshin Horitoshi, Ton and Magoshi from Chopsticks, Horigyn, Horishio, Horihito, Hougen Kosei, Horinao, Horiken, Horizaru, Horitsuna, Mutsuo, Horimasa and more. That's just the artwork. The list of tattooers whose work was contributed is 5 times as long, and just amazing. This is a great little book to pick up.
