Hokusai & Kyosai Humorous Ukiyo-e Exhibition Catalog - LMT

Size: 6” x 8” - Pages: 320 - Published: 2013 - Price: $60 - Binding: Softcover
This is a GREAT little collection of Hokusai sketches and full color illustrations as well as Kyosai sketches and artwork. Predominately sketches and definitely some old favorites, but the Kyosai sketches make this book a great addition to any and all Japanese art collections. They only made 1000 copies and it will sell out fast. I got 200 and once I am out, that's it.

This book is a must have. It touches on just about every integral Japanese motif, penned in Ichibays infallible hand. Hailing from Luke Atkinson's Checker Demon Press, I cannot say enough good things about this book, and more importantly, Ichibay himself was central in it's creation. Smallish so it is perfect for travelers, cover to cover black and grey sketches, this book will improve your reference library tenfold. Get one.

108 Marks by Mike "The Athens" and Jondix

Size: 3 " x 5 " - Pages: 224 - Published: 2011 - Price: $60 - Hardcover

This is a beautiful little reference book compiled by Mike "The Athens" and Jondix. 108 symbols explained in English, pulled from the European Middle Ages, Hinduism, Esoteric Buddhism, Christianity, Neopaganism, African tradition, Babalonian lore, Neolithic findings, Sikh beliefs, Egyptian and Kabalistic teachings, Masonic principles, Bengali and Shri Lankan teachings, Reiki and Mysticism and Japanese Bonji among others. This book is the culmination of over 20 years of hunting and studying old texts and doctrines and the result is a crisp concise lexicon of global symbols. Very well done....this book is a must have.

There are several pages of photos in the back so you can see Sayalero's finished results. This book is well crafted and very instructional. Jee has a passion for life that is evident in his artwork. Jay Cavna's Unfinished Business Part 2

This is Jay Cavna's follow up to his first sketchbook which I've sold heaps of because it is rad. If you bought the first you know why you should pick up the second one. Cavna is wicked talented and his sketches will keep you on point. His Japanese imagery adheres to tradition but is crafted with a western eye which I think, makes his work stand out. He doesn't spend his time trying to be Japanese, but studies the Japanese aesthetics for what they are and applies them to his own illustrations. His lines are solid and his images reflect his confidence as an artist. This book included skulls, dragon, flower, tiger, goldfish, turtle, deities and gods, snakes, hannya, grim reapers, koi, oni foo dog....a little bit of everything. You won't be disappointed.

Size: 8." x 11.5" - Pages 44 - Price: $65 - Spiral bound softcover
